PROJECT KUSHA

India’s Project Kusha represents a strategic endeavour aimed at bolstering its air defense capabilities to rival the renowned S-400. This mission encompasses the acquisition of three long-range interceptor missiles boasting ranges of 150km, 250km, and 350km, ensuring comprehensive protection against aerial threats. These missiles offer a high single-shot kill probability, surpassing 85%, which can be further increased to an impressive 98.5% when two different missiles are launched sequentially with a short gap.

S-400 Triumf

The S-400 Triumf stands as a mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system of Russian origin. Its exceptional capabilities include the interception and destruction of various aerial targets, such as aircraft, drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. Notably, the S-400 boasts an operational range of up to 400 kilometres and a surveillance range extending up to 600 kilometres. It is proficient in engaging targets flying at altitudes of up to 30 kilometres at speeds of around 17,000 kilometres per hour, which is approximately 13 times the speed of sound. Regarded as one of the world’s most advanced air defense systems, the S-400 excels in simultaneously tracking and neutralizing a wide spectrum of incoming aerial threats.
