COURSE DESCRIPTION
KAS Coaching programme is an innovative course of the Civil Service Institute Pala, with a unique approach to the Kerala Administrative Service Examinations. The course delivers the curriculum by a learner- friendly methodology developed based on our extensive research on KAS examination syllabus and structure. The classes are led by teachers who are proficient in the relevant subjects. Our teaching methodology is based on a comprehensive outlook and an integrated approach towards the three stages of KAS examination. The course offers key strategic sessions for clearing the exam with this integrated approach. The focus is on empowering the learners to excel by growing on learner’s own competitive edge. Our result on the recent KAS examination is a testimony to this fact. We have succeeded in leading 52 candidates altogether to the final rank list of KAS stream-1, stream-2 and stream-3.
CIVIL SERVICE INSTITUTE PALA
The Civil Service Institute Pala was established in 1998 under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry and the Dioceses of Pala and Kanjirapally with the intention of augmenting the presence of Keralites in the crucial positions of the Indian Civil Service. The Civil Service Institute has already played a pivotal role in leading 347 candidates to the Civil Services over a period of 25 years of its service.

KERALA ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE (KAS)
The objective of the Kerala Administrative Service is to create a new generation of officers to make governance more efficient. The introduction of the new generation officers to key levels of governance will lead to a more efficient and populist civil service. Significant shortage of professionals in the second tier of the government system is hampering the realization of the objectives of government schemes and the government is looking for a way to overcome this through KAS.
The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruits KAS Officer (Junior Time Scale) Trainees from different categories such as STREAM-1, STREAM-2, and STREAM-3 by conducting Kerala Administrative Service examination annually.
Streams/Sections
The Kerala Administrative Service recruitment is meant for candidates from three-sections/streams.
- Stream 1:Direct Appointment
- Stream 2:Direct recruitment from among full members or approved probationers in any Government Department.
- Stream 3:Direct Recruitment from among candidates holding First Gazetted post.
Age Limit
- Stream 1:21– 32 years. Age relaxations as per government norms are applicable.
- Stream 2:21– 40 years. Age relaxations as per government norms are applicable.
- Stream 3:Must not have completed 50 years of age.
Kerala Administrative Service Examination: An Overview
The KAS Exam is conducted in three stages:
- Stage 1: Preliminary Exam – 2 papers – objective type (MCQs) – 100 Marks each
- Stage 2: Mains – 3 papers – essay/descriptive type – 100 Marks each
- Stage 3: Interview – 50 Marks
