The world’s first 3D-printed train station building was unveiled at Hatsushima Station on the Kisei Line in Arida City, Wakayama Prefecture.Built by West Japan Railway Company (JR West), in collaboration with construction tech firm Serendix.Size & Structure: The compact station measures around 10 m² (about 108 ft²), standing 2.6 m tall, 6.3 m wide, and 2.1 m deep.Material Composition: Built using hollow mortar formwork printed off-site, reinforced with steel bars and filled with concrete—matching earthquake-resistance standards of reinforced concrete structures.Japan has set a global milestone by constructing the world’s first 3D-printed train station.
